#OurStoryIsOne
#OurStoryIsOne is a global campaign launched by the Baháʼí International Community to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the execution of 10 courageous Baháʼí women in Shiraz, Iran, on June 18, 1983. These women, aged 17 to their early 20s, were tortured and hanged for their steadfast commitment to a faith that promotes equality, justice, and truthfulness—values that remain criminalized in Iran. Despite the immense cruelty they endured, they refused to renounce their beliefs, standing as symbols of resilience and sacrifice.
As part of this campaign, we have created video profiles of each of these remarkable women to explore their lives, their contributions to society, and their enduring legacy. Through these profiles, we aim to shed light on their humanity, achievements, and the principles they stood for, ensuring their stories continue to inspire and resonate.
This campaign also highlights the broader struggle of Iranian women over the past four decades. Facing systemic discrimination and persecution—both as women and as Baháʼís—they have continued to demonstrate extraordinary courage in their pursuit of equality and justice. The spirit of the 10 women of Shiraz lives on today in the sacrifices and resilience of countless Iranian women who are fighting for a more just and equitable society.
#OurStoryIsOne invites individuals around the world to join in honoring these women and their legacy through creative expressions—songs, videos, artwork, articles, and social media posts. Together, we affirm that our stories are interconnected, and through unity, we can overcome oppression and build a brighter, more inclusive future.
